Developments on the Korean Peninsula

New today out of North Korea is that the largest ICBM in the regime's history was fired off the coast of Japan. This breaks a four year moratorium on ICBM testing.

What brought this decision on from the Hermit Kingdom? Well, Western media will explain that this is just the work of a "madman", without giving you any context (sound familiar).

Just a few days again in South Korea, a new president was elected. Yoon Suk-yeol, a conservative hawk and member of the People's Power Party was elected in the slimmest victory in the country's history. Below are some of his comments & policies about the future of South Korean relations with the North:

Throughout the campaign Yoon slammed the incumbent Democrat Moon Jae-in’s North Korea policy as “subservient” and vowed he would keep up sanctions and dismiss all peace agreements until the North “makes active efforts in complete and verifiable denuclearization,” the same demand which killed off the 2019 summit organized by the Trump Administration.

Totally in the American spirit of “for thee and not for me,” Yoon’s advisors desire the return of American tactical nuclear missiles and other weapons to South Korea along the NATO-sharing lines, as well as potentially a South Korean-made nuclear deterrent, and even the green-light to instantly use them in the face of kinetic Northern provocations.

During the campaign, Yoon stated “You can only prevent war when you have the capability for preemptive strikes and have the intent to do so,” according to translations from the Center for a New American Security fellow, Duyeon Kim.

So the US Empire has its vassal state back. Ready to bring back the war games, aggressive rhetoric towards North Korea, and even a request for American nukes to the region. Lovely.
