Archiving data in Amazon Glacier means while you'll store your data at extremely low cost (even compared to Amazon S3), you cannot immediately get your data back once you want. Data stored in Amazon Glacier takes several hours to recover, making it ideal for archiving.
There are three options to recover data with different access times and cost: accelerated, standard and large recoveries, as follows:
- Accelerated recoveries are generally available within 1 to five minutes.
- Standard recoveries are generally completed within 3-5 hours.
- Bulk recoveries are generally completed within 5 to 12 hours. (AWS)
The data is stored in Amazon Glacier in "files". A file is often any information, like a photograph, video, or document. you'll upload one file together with file or add multiple files to a TAR or ZIP file and upload it together file.
A single file is often as large as 40 terabytes. you'll store a vast number of files and a vast amount of knowledge in Amazon Glacier. Each file is assigned a singular file ID at creation, and therefore the content of the file is immutable, which suggests that after a file is made, it can't be updated.
The vaults (or vaults in English) will allow you to arrange your files and establish access policies and notification policies. you'll prefer to have notifications sent to you via email or to your app whenever certain Amazon Glacier jobs are done. The notification messages are sent by the Service Amazon Simple Notification Service (NHS).
Specify the Amazon SNS theme to be used for job completion notifications using the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the theme. Next, select which sorts of Amazon Glacier jobs can trigger a notification when the work ends. Applications or users who subscribe the Amazon SNS topic receive a notification message when a task of the sort you decide on completes.
There are three options to recover data with different access times and cost: 1 is that the accelerated recoveries, 2 is that the standard and therefore the third is that the massive option. Accelerated recoveries are generally available within 1 to five minutes. Standard recoveries are generally completed within 3-5 hours. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S01cKv4CQYg
