In this video I show you a few techniques to add character, atmosphere and energy to your productions. Here I'm starting with a very simple drum pattern in Ultrabeat using only 7 sounds, but with some simple techniques, we will push them to a new level of interest.

During this vidjayo we will look at using parallel processing, sidechain compression (with reverb and fx) and two mighty fine freeware plugins. Below are the links for these plugins.

Now this is not a highly polished production, in fact it was created in well under an hour - and deliberately so! The idea here is to highlight how much of a difference can be made to a simple starting premise, with a bit of creativity using bus sends and some free plugins!
