Free Running. Making a tune from scratch in Logic Pro X (Part 6)

Part 6 and we're getting deeper into the mix. I spend some time tweaking one of the bass sounds using the randomize function in Logic's ES2 synth. Yet another experiment that fails superbly!

Next I add some parallel compression to the drums using bus sends to an auxiliary channel. To that I add a tape delay plugin and un-synch the tempo bpm so that I can create a 'slapback' style delay to give the drums a sense of space. This type of tight delay can be a nice alternative to using reverb.

Finally I try to create a call-and-response bassline using Delay Designer and once more it is a resounding failure! But as I often say - it's all about experimentation!
