the green mile part1

The story is narrated by Paul Edgecomb, a resident of a nursing home, to Elaine Connelly, one of his companions who lives there. He is a former prison official in charge of Block E of the Cold Mountain prison, in the state of Louisiana, the block of those sentenced to death, which unlike other prisons, was not called "The final mile", but, due to its lackluster lime linoleum floor, it was nicknamed "The Green Mile."
