The Fall of KaijuCostumes

REUPLOAD: A big thank you to Pilloe Glade (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcDkxbBuOT-Xom00HrqqXRA) for pointing out the simple fact that a part of the video at around 19:40 had music that was at 100% - it completely drowned out my voice. How embarrassing. Either way, sorry about that. I take pride in spot checking these videos before shipping them out, but, accidents do happen. Think this might be the second - third time ever? Thanks for mentioning it, though!
KaijuCostumes was a fursuit maker of moderate success and popularity that was accused of engaging in questionable behavior when it was learned that they had established an alternative account that seemingly portrayed a gay black fur – that was the narrative and interpretation that was established by those who found out and spread the word about him. From my research, at no point did Kaiju explicitly make that claim about their identity being such, but seemed to allow the perceptions of others to make that assumption about them based on the alt account, the OC they made, and proceeded to utilize that alt account as a political platform to espouse messages (namely in the form of a comic) that pissed furries off. My only real bone of contention was the implications of disingenuousness and dishonesty – I mean, why make an alt account if you’re going to be doing things like that? If you knew you were doing nothing wrong, wouldn’t you just use your normal main account or make it a little more clear that it’s a rant account or alt account tied to the main?
As those closest to him began to draw the connections between the two, Kaiju responded without any real sense of urgency, but later retreated as more and more attention was levied upon them, and the Twitter shitstorm got to enough of a fever pitch enough that their mom got involved. First heard the first inkling of the story on Wednesday while I was hanging out with a friend, then popped on Twitter myself to take a look at the whole thing. Even Boozy Badger and DeoTasDevil got involved, so there was plenty of spice to go around. I, in good faith, do not think the backlash should have been so severe as to have gotten to that, but then again, for him to respond in such a way was both embarrassing and denoted ulterior motives. The biggest point of contention for those closest to him is the realization that Kaiju wasn’t as they perceived him to be and that this was enough of a revelation to them that they were shocked and appalled.
Gross overreaction or justice served? It’s another bout of furry drama of a fursuit maker that was castigated by the entire community, similar to the likes of what happened to Lucky Coyote with Don’t Hug Cacti. Major difference was that this was over a matter of opinion, whereas the DHC debacle was over ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXRmsjpWEQI
