System Crash – Updates as of 1-16-2021
Tujo Panda
So, the unthinkable finally happened. After almost 3 years of fairly reliable performance, my black obsidian tower of a PC has finally ran into some major problems, enough that I had to reinstall windows 10 and wipe the hard drive. That’s the TLDR for this particular video. Problems came to a head Friday after work and after 6 days of ramming my head into the wall trouble-shooting and researching a fix or solution to my problems, I made some real progress early Wednesday morning this week.
But, here’s the thing. I technically don’t know if the problem is really solved – I’ve just put the computer to sleep every day. Next update or program install will probably force me to reboot / restart the system, so that’ll be the real test. I’m wondering if just popping a CMOS battery into the motherboard will fix all this, but I dunno. Stress tests so far have been promising in contrast to what I’d been experiencing up to this point – random freezes, crashes, etc. None of that’s happened so far.
So, I dunno. This threw a huge wrench into my plans and projects, but I guess it was a decent wake up call to be more mindful about my systems health versus performance. Lost some pretty good material, but the computer is much more responsive and fresh when it comes to overall performance after a Windows 10 reinstall. What a way to start 2021, am I right?
Honestly? I blame Windows 10. But I guess that goes without saying. It’s got a lot of weirdness in the programming and source code, and I guess misery loves company because a lot of people have shared with me their frustrations and problems with Windows as their OS. But, I guess it could be worse. I could be dealing with Linux or Temple OS.
Either way? Wish me luck, and hopefully all these problems will be a thing of the past and I can get back to working on things like before. I figured I’d tell you all now in case anything were to happen that I wouldn’t be able to upload a video detailing it all. The two uploads you saw before this one were put together after the system crash from material that thankfully survived the great reset.
