Sonic 2021

In an alternate Universe similar to our own, the development of Sonic 2021 is in now in progress, requiring new actors to fit the Sonic OC re-designs to ensure that the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise keeps up with the times. In spite of the great enthusiasm showcased by a Sega Rep, one young fox will quickly realize the error of his ways as he learns more, seeing firsthand noy only his annoying co-worker but the less than ideal conditions in which he’ll be working. His heart quickly fills with dread as the soul-draining implications of his decision to join become readily apparent. However, being locked into a contract and having student loans hanging over his head, he’ll have to come to terms and make the best of it. God help him.

So, I was actually a big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog growing up, namely with the Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 games. However, in recent years, it’s been pretty obvious that with each successive game release, Sonic’s now pretty much on life support. Even so, Sonic fans abound and flock to whatever new release hits the shelves. While I hold out hopes that a great new Sonic game for the modern age will be released someday, I’m not holding my breath. I can only imagine what the decision making at Sega happens to be in the planning and development of a new release. About the only thing that’s come out in recent years with the name Sonic on it that did halfway decently was that Sonic Boom TV show – that was pretty cool. Can’t say the same for the game, though. Ah well.

A big thank you to those who joined me in the making of this video – you’ll be happy to know that they wasted no time telling me that this was a soul-draining endeavor, but we did it anyway. For better or worse, I can’t tell. Hope you all enjoy the video, either way!
