Dabbing for Beginners

Hey stoners, welcome to the Johno show. I'm your host, Jonathan. We are here with my friend Will from Quad Deuce Nil. Today Will, is gonna walk me through how to use a dab rig. And we'll also talk about the benefits and some drawbacks of dabbing. Yeah. Will, before we begin, tell us a little about quad deuce nil.

So Quad deuce nil is a cannabis lifestyle brand based in New York. The three people that are in the company are Steve, Sean and I. Those two are from California. I'm from Colorado. So we grew up with a big like cannabis upbringing. Cannabis was always around. We were always smoking with our friends. It was a social thing. And then we all moved out here and saw a giant change in how cannabis was treated. So Steve actually started the company a while ago and the goal is just to kind of defeat the stigmas and bring cannabis like more into a, like open light rather than hiding it in the shadows.

Well, as you know, I'm a traditionalist, who's slowly exploring other methods of taking in cannabis for most of my life. I didn't even do bong hits. It was purely pipes and joints. So I have a couple of questions for you regarding dabbing. You ready? Yep. Okay. So question one. What is a dab? So a dab is when you take concentrated THC in the form of wax shatter butter distillate. There's so many forms out there today and you touch it to a heated nail on a dab rig and it vaporizes the THC and the terpenes and all of the components of the dab. And it's a lot like a bong hit. You take it in exhale and you're elevated.

Interesting. Break that down for me again, just, uh, the, you said there's wax there's, what's, what's the various different types. So there's different types of concentrates. So wax is a more like, it looks like ear wax kind of, it kind of has that color. That consistency.

Question two is dabbing safe.

For your body, dabbing is actually safer because it's a vaporization of the THC rather than burning it. So you're not getting any of the carcinogens or anything from burning the actual flower.

In order to extract the terpenes, it is a chemical process, right? Yeah. So it, I mean, they put it through machines and then there's different types of making the hash. So some like variations of hash are safer to make than others BHO, uh, which is what started the kind of hash craze and the dabbing craze is made with Butan and a lot of houses and people's garages blew up from them making that at home. Yeah. So it should be done in a very safe lab environment that takes away most of the risk for

So, I mean, it depends on who you're getting your extractions from and who's doing the extractions because most reputable companies have to abide by a certain guidelines on safety and have, uh, like they can't have that, obviously, because it's bad for you. But I mean, there is a lot of hash that goes like unregulated, so you'll find toxins and heavy metals and butane in the extractions

Question three. How do you know how much to take

It's really dependent on the person's body chemistry and how much they use cannabis because me and my friends, we can take giant globs. So okay. So let's go right back into this. Okay. So we're gonna, we're gonna look at this, right? Okay. Um, and you are saying, uh you could do this.

An enail. Okay. So there's also an enail. What's the difference between the enail and the, the propane? The what is this? But is this butane. Again? Yeah, it's a butane torch.

So question four. What equipment do I need for dabbing? This is the rig. Yep. Uh, this is a banger that might be hot. Woo. Little bit. It's a little hot.

Is 10 millimeters, 10 millimeters. This is 14. 14. Okay. And so this fits perfectly. Yeah. So if I, if you know, all of a sudden, I wind up with a million of these guys, I gotta get myself a 10 instead of a 14. Yeah. Yeah. If they even make it or do they only make 14.
