Turnout Control With Arduino And Servos Using A PCA9685

In this video I'm going to show you how to have Turnout Control With Arduino And Servos Using A PCA9685. The pca9685 is capable of operating 16 servos from an Arduino Uno using only 2 wires. I will show you how to figure the range of the servo and the optimal throw for your turnouts through an Arduino sketch.

I will also cover how to hook up a switch and LED's for your control panel for each turnout you want to operate. This is all possible with the pca9685. Since this device only uses 2 wires for the control of all your servos, you can hook up 5 switch LED combinations on an UNO. With the help of a shift register, you can add more control for your turnouts.

Since the Arduino Mega has many more input/output pins, you are able to operate many more turnouts without the assistance of an external device.

Since the pca9685 is an I2C device, you can add many more devices to your project all on the same two wires by jumping through to another device.
