Introduction To Arduino Made Easy
Toms Trains and Things
Arduino Made Easy is for those modelers that are not comfortable with computer programming or basic electronics. Arduino was created as a teaching tool for students to learn programming and electronics all in one step. Even though it is easy to understand for some modelers, there are those that have issues with converting the example sketches into usable projects of their own. When I was first introduced to Arduino several years ago, I had the same problem.
There are thousands of videos on YouTube about Arduino, showing the viewer how the example sketches work, or how they modified a sketch to make their own project. The only problem with those videos; No one explains how they did what they did, or why they chose the path they did. There are others that state that their code will be in the description or give an invalid link to their code and worse yet, put no reference to anything in the description.
There is nothing more frustrating for someone wanting to learn how to do a certain task, only to find a video with nothing more than a set of hands plugging jumpers in boards and showing the end result of LED's lighting up or a few servos moving with no explanation of what they used or the code to make what they were showing do what it did. What's the value in that? What do we learn from that?
Arduino Made Easy is my attempt to show those that want to learn about the platform in the easiest way with everything explained, and all resources revealed. That's why Arduino was made, and why it's open source!
