Discovering Truth - By Challenging It!

There are charlatans who use distortions of logic in order to compel you to doubt your own reasoning and conscience. They use doubt and uncertainty to demonize rational thought with the idea that you cannot trust any knowledge that does not come from them, usually with a claim of divine authority and truth.

To disarm people who might critically examine those claims of divine authority, they plant the seed that since we may never know something with absolute certainty - then you really can't trust your mind to come to conclusions contrary to the "truth" they have already provided to you.

If you discover facts from history which contradict and impeach their claimed authority - they tell you to doubt those facts and only accept data which reinforces preconceived claims.

They rely on the phenomenon of bias to keep people in line - reinforcing a mindset which only accepts evidence supportive of claims and disregarding or distrusting any contrary evidence.

An honest search for truth must acknowledge bias and confront it. It must open all avenues of inquiry and allow the evidence to separate truth from falsehood.

Any purveyor of truth who tells you that you cannot look at certain evidence or that you should suspend your reasoning reveals an agenda of control rather that truth.

Never in the history of the world has it been more important to learn how to correctly discern between truth and error.
