Morty also desires one, but Rick refuses. At the party, Summer dazzles with heightened dexterity and strength, adjusting charisma to charm Jimmy. Morty steals the slider, leading to a conflict. The device falls into the pool, merging Summer and Morty into a kuato, echoing "Total Recall."

Rick initially refuses to assist until Summer fulfills her chore duties. However, an ad lures Summer to Mind Openerz, a club for kuatos. There, she meets Kwyatt, leading to a wild night. The next day, Rick pursues Summer for neglected chores. Summer, dragged into the kuato world, discovers a trafficking scheme. She frees herself, avenges fellow kuatos, and learns Morty's location from a captured kuato.

Rick and Summer confront Kenneth, discovering Morty's auction. Rick reveals Summer can establish a psychic link, and they embark on a rescue mission. They face guards, and Summer criticizes Rick for not unmerging them earlier. Rick acknowledges Morty as a "free" follower and respects Summer more. The duo defeats guards, confronts Kenneth, and Morty gains a spider device. Kuato Morty joins the Frolf Team, and Summer rejects Jimmy, opting for a date with the saved woman. Morty, experimenting with the spider device, unintentionally causes chaos at the stadium.

Rick Sanchez is the epitome of the "mad scientist" stereotype. He is a genius and a good guy, but he is irresponsible, unkempt, alcoholic, selfish, depressive, sarcastic, and lacks sanity. Unable to pay the rent for his old house, Rick moves into his daughter Beth's house and encounters his grandson Morty, a 12-year-old with little expression, shy, and not very bright. As they team up, Rick and Morty embark on a variety of adventures across parallel universes. Through numerous experiences and reflections, Rick seeks to prevent Morty from ending up like his father, Jerry, a highly unsuccessful man who, despite good intentions, proves to be quite inept on many occasions and heavily depends on his wife, Beth.

Despite their close bond, Rick and his grandson experience moments when Summer, Morty's sister, occasionally joins in the quirky adventures instigated by Rick.
