Extra notes:
- They're using ChromeOS because the software ecosystem is very robust and is essential an OS in a browser. This makes developing software for it a bit easier, I assume
- They're aiming for the same price as a raspberry pi, though I'd imagine it will come out cheaper once we're factoring in the lack of royalties being paid to produce the board
Very excited to see what comes of this product, I'm all for free and open source hardware. The use of ChromeOS and PowerVR technology disappoints me somewhat but I am still glad that there is an opportunity to install something like gentoo, which is more freedom respecting, and that in the future they might consider open source gpu options. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZr5Cgl5xmc
