Trio Sonata for Violin & Lute in C major, RV. 82 by Antonio Vivaldi
Vivaldi likely completed this work for violin, lute, and basso continuo in 1731 while travelling through Vienna and Prague. It is one of only two compositions for this ensemble that Vivaldi completed, the other being the Trio in G minor, RV. 85.
Both Trio sonatas were commissioned by and dedicated to Count Johann Joseph von Wrtby of Bohemia, a wealthy aristocrat living in Prague. It is possible the Count was a flute player, and these works may have been composed with the intent for the Count to perform at private events.
This trio is comprised of three movements: I. Allegro non molto 00:00 II. Larghetto 03:45 III. Allegro 07:35
