How to fake depth of field - Blurry background - in Vegas Pro That lovely blurry background effect you get with high end cameras is what's known as depth of field effect. but if you have only a run of the mill camera, but would still like that blurry background effect, you may be pleased to discover that you can create a fake depth of field effect in video editors, it's not that difficult and works well for relatively static foregrounds like "talking heads".
