In case it isn't clear:

• Install the Windows version of UT99. Either through Steam, through Lutris/GOG, or through WINE.
• Download the latest release from OldUnreal https://github.com/OldUnreal/UnrealTournamentPatches/releases
• Extract the .tar from OldUnreal in the install directory of Unreal Tournament
• Change the launch parameters of Unreal Tournament (in Lutris or whatever) to launch /System/ut-bin
• Play!
