For 4 years the Produce series has been the biggest and most successful kpop survival shows in history. Their groups IOI, Wannaone, IZ*ONE, and X1 have gone on to be commercial successes. However a vote rigging scandal has put the Produce series to an untimely end.

Mnet's newest show Girls Planet 999 is suspiciously similar to the Produce series. Is it just the same show?
