Hi everyone!

In this video I am joined by Greg Kaplanek, a PhD student working at McMaster University. In this video series Greg will introduce the topic of open quantum systems. In part one we explore the problem of secular growth and the limitations of perturbation theory.

The methods associated with open quantum systems provide a powerful toolkit to tackle problems in a large class of physical situations, from condensed matter to blackhole physics.
