Hope you are doing fine.
Have you ever tried to use the ServiceNow Script shortcuts like vargr and tab which will generate the boilerplate code for Glide Record or doc and the account will generate the js docs comments and so on? If yes have you ever thoughts about where these commands are defined or can we create our own commands like this? We will try to get the answers to these questions in today's tutorials.
These commands are called syntax editor macro and the definition for the same is as given below.
Syntax Editor Macro:-
- Editor Macros, found in “System Definition - Syntax Editor Macros”, are code shortcuts you can create in ServiceNow to automatically create code blocks while in a script editor.
- For example, you can simply type vargr and hit the Tab key. This will create the code block for obtaining a GlideRecord.
