Setting up JBL Link 300 with Google Assistant
- Unbox the JBL Link 300
- Connect power supply to Link300
- 4 dots on the top and the wireless icon on the base of the Link300
- When the Link 300 is ready to be configured only the Wireless icon will be blinking at the base of the unit
- The Google Assistant will tell you the next step by going to the Google Home app on your smartphone
- Open the Google Home app on your smartphone
- You should see an item at the top of the Welcome Home screen showing that 1 device has been found. It should be something like JBL-Link300 followed by 4 numbers.
- Tap on the setup icon to continue
- Tap Yes to continue the setup process
- If you are using something other than a gmail.com account, you may get a warning that personal answers from your email account or calendar.
- Tap on Continue
- The Google Home app will connect to the JBL 300
- You should hear a sound from Link 300
- Tap on Yes to continue
- Select the room that the Link 300 will be located in
- Tap on Next to continue
- Enter the name you want the Link 300 to be known by
- Tap Next to continue
- Tap on the Wifi SSID you want the Link 300 use
- Tap Next to continue
- If Google Home already has the password saved, it will ask you about using this Wifi network for future devices
- Tap on Ok to continue
- Once the JBL300 is connected, the Wifi icon will stay on solid and the Google Home app will now show Connected
- Tap on Next to proceed to the next screen
- The next screen will allow Google Assistant to distinguish between users
- Tap on No Thanks for now to continue
- Tap on I'm Sure to confirm you don’t want it to distinguish between others in your home
- Tap on Allow on the Allow personal results screen
- Enter your home address and tap on confirm address
- The Add music services screen will allow you to connect to multiple music sources. Tap on Next to use only Google Play Music (for now)
- The Add your video services allow you to connect to one or more of you video services. Tap Next to come back to this at a later point.
- Tap Continue to complete the setup process
- Tap Continue when the Link 300 screen appears
- Tap on Finish Setup and you are done
