How To Setup the Amazon Echo Wall Clock
TechBytes with Ron Nutter
Q. Should this clock be a part of your Smart Kitchen or Smart Home ? R. YES YES YES
This is the perfect gift for the cook in your life, let Alexa give you a visual indication when you need to tend to something cooking in the kitchen.
How to setup the clock
- Unpack Clock
- Install batteries
- Ask the Alexa device that you want to pair the clock with "Alexa, setup up my Echo Wall Clock"
- Follow the directions and it should be up and running within a few minutes
The beauty of this clock is that it works with even the Gen 1 Alexa devices (I know, I have one)
The display will show the status of the current timer that you have running. It will even flash when a scheduled Alarm goes off.
NOTE: Do not adjust the clock manually to setup the site, this will happen automatically during the setup process.
The LED just above the 6 on the clock tells you the current status of the clock, if the batteries need to be changed, a notification needs to checked, etc.
In my use so far, I have noticed the following -
- When an incoming call shows up on Amazon Connect, the alert LED doesn’t start blinking until after the call has hung up. It then only blinks a few times.
- When Alexa starts flashing the ring with a shipment notification, the Echo Wall clock doesn’t trigger the Alert LED.
- Would be nice if there was an option to link via Wifi. I know that would be more of a drain on the battery but there might be ways to deal with that.
