How to keep to backup a single Mac OSX with FreeNAS in your SmartHome

This is a basic setup for a single mac, if you want more granular control, watch for part 2 of this video

- Create AFP Share specifically for this Mac being backed up a. Create the directory you want this system backed up to from a AFP share b. Create AFP Share i. Sharing - AFP - Add ii. Drill down to the volume, dataset and directory for the Mac being backed up iii. Check the Time Machine box iv. Set the limit for disk space that this Time Machine backup will be allowed to use (i.e. 2 times the size of the disk you are backing up) v. Click on Save
- Go into Time Machine Preferences on the Mac you are backing up a. Click on Time Machine backup icon b. Click on Open Time Machine Preferences c. Select the Time Machine share you created d. Click on Backup Now
