How to browse internet on Nvidia Shield

1. Click on settings icon in upper right hand corner of screen

2. Scroll down to Security & Restrictions

3. Click on that item

4. Enable install unknown apps option

5. Associate a bluetooth keyboard with your Nvidia Shield a. Click on Settings b. Turn on bluetooth keyboard and put it into pairing mode c. Click on Click on Add accessory d. Tap on bluetooth icon on keyboard to start pairing process e. Click on the keyboard listed to complete the pairing process using the Nvidia Shield remote

6. Download and install the Downloader app If it doesn’t show in the Google Play store app on your Nvidia Shield, use this link from your computer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.esaba.downloader&rdid=com.esaba.downloader and select the Nvidia Shield as the install point. It should install within a few minutes.

Allow Downloader the privileges needed by clicking on the allow button as prompted the first time you run Downloader.

3. Installing Google browser a. Install Downloader if not already installed b. Click on search icon c. Type downloader d. Highlight and click on downloader e. Select downloader and click on it f. Click on Get Free to download g. Open downloader h. Click on OK to update notes if displayed i. Enter this URL - https://troypoint.com/chrome j. Highlight and click on Go k. File will now download l. Highlight and click on Install

4. Installing Firebox browser a. Install Downloader b. Click on search icon c. Type downloader d. Highlight and click on downloader e. Select downloader and click on it f. Click on Get Free to download g. Open downloader h. Click on OK to update notes if displayed i. Enter this URL - https://troypoint.com/firefox j. Highlight and click on Go k. File will now download l. Highlight and click on Install

5. Installing Opera browser a. Install Downloader if not already installed b. Click on search icon c. Type downloader d. Highlight and click on downloader e. Select downloader and click on it f. Click on Get Free to download g. Open downloader h. Click on OK to update notes if displayed i. Enter this URL - https://troypoint.com/opera j. Highlight and click on Go k. File will now download l. Highlight and click on Install

As of Android Shield TV 7.0.2, Chrome, Firefox or Opera won't show as installed app. You can use the Nvidia Shield remote, press the mike button and say "Open" followed by the name of the browser you want to open to be able to use the browser. As of 9/1/18, All three of these browsers show as an "incompatible app" for the Nvidia Shield in the Google Play store.
