5 Steps to Controlling Sonoff Basic with Cortana

Since there isnt direct integration between Sonoff and Cortana, you can use a 3rd party, IFTTT (IF This Then That) to bridge between the two

1. Create an account on IFTTT a. Go to www.ifttt.com b. Create an account on www.ifttt.com c. Download ifttt app for your smartphone d. Run the ifttt app e. Enter your login credentials
2. Connect Cortana to IFTTT a. Tap on the My Applets icon on the lower right hand corner of the screen b. Tap on Cortana or search for it and then tap on Cortana c. Tap on Connect d. Enter your Microsoft Cortana credentials
3. Connect Sonoff to IFTTT a. Tap on the My Applets icon on the lower right hand corner of the screen b. Tap on eWelink or search for it and then tap on eWelink c. Tap on Connect d. Enter your eWelink credentials
4. Create Applet on IFTTT to Turn on Sonoff Basic a. Return to main IFTTT screen on your smartphone b. Tap on the My Applets icon on the lower right hand corner of the screen c. Tap on the plus symbol on the upper right hand corner of the screen d. Tap + beside this on the New Applet screen e. Type cortana on the search line f. Tap on Cortana g. Tap on Say a Specific Phrase h. Tap on What do you want to say i. Type Basic on j. Tap on Done k. Tap on What do you want Cortana to say l. Type Turning Basic on m. Tap on Done n. Tap on check mark on the upper right hand corner of the screen o. Tap on plus sign beside that p. Tap on Services q. Type eWelink r. Tap on eWelink icon s. Tap on Turn1 channel switch on or off t. Select the Sonoff device you want to control u. Select on from the turn on or off option v. Tap on Checkmark in upper right hand corner of the screen w. Temporarily enable notification when this applet runs to help in initial debugging x. Tap on Finish
5. Create Applet on IFTTT to Turn off Sonoff Basic a. Return to main IFTTT screen on your smartphone b. Tap on the My Applets icon on the lower right hand corner of the screen c. Tap on the plus symbol on the upper right hand corner of the screen d. Tap + beside this on the New Applet screen e. Type cortana on the search line f. Tap on Cortana g. Tap on Say a Specific Phrase h. Tap on What do you want to say i. Type Basic on j. Tap on Done k. Tap on What do you want Cortana to say l. Type Turning Basic on m. Tap on Done n. Tap on check mark on the upper right hand corner of the screen o. Tap on plus sign beside that p. Tap on Services q. Type eWelink r. Tap on eWelink icon s. Tap on Turn1 channel switch on or off t.
