This is a really quick video showing how an Arduino can be used for a simple motor testing rig or controlling complex projects without needing a transmitter connected. It also demonstrates how to read the receiver values from a transmitter in case you wish to interpret those for a project and do something more complicated than radio mixing allows - like controlling a walking robot, or switch autonomy on and off.
