Brushless Custom Gearbox Design: Part 1 [Beetleweight (3lb) Combat Robot]

Today’s video is about my process designing, building, and testing some custom gearboxes to convert Division over to Brushless Drive. I'll be talking about what I hope to accomplish with these gearboxes and the challenges I ran into making them come to life.

Just a note: I do not in any way think BTR Gearboxes are a bad product! I am only saying they don't work for my particular application due to their form factor and lack of mounting options. If you are designing a new robot to accommodate them I'm sure they will be fantastic, but retrofitting Division wasn't gonna happen.

This vid is being made on a shorter timeline than usual as I spent a lot of this weekend upgrading a 3D printer in order to make these gearbox housings with CF-Nylon.
