Partial Pivoting Purpose | Numerical Methods
StudySession
Let’s talk about the purpose behind partial pivoting. Partial pivoting is the method used in numerical methods to help us reduce truncation (or round-off error) when solving our system of equations and increase our numerical stability. So, it is essentially a tool that will help us better solve our numerical methods problems. Therefore, we use partial pivoting to get more accurate answers when solving systems of equation problems and it prevents us from having a zero on our main diagonal!

This video is part of our Numerical Methods course. Numerical methods is about solving math problems through approximating the solution of problems that would be difficult or impossible to solve analytically. In this playlist we will cover topics such as solving systems of linear equations, solving systems of non-linear equations, numerical integration, numerical derivatives, etc.. #Studysession #numericalmethods #partialpivoting ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aio7h4pvDE8
