Laplace Transform of a Ramp Signal
StudySession
The Laplace Transform of a ramp input signal is presented in this video. A ramp forcing function in control systems is a common test signal that grows over time. At time zero the ramp input signal is equal to zero and then at some given time, it turns on the input which will grow over time according to its slope. Taking the Laplace transform of input signals is very important in control systems as it is necessary when converting out process model from the time domain to the Laplace domain.
The following timeline is meant to aid your understanding how to take the Laplace transform of a ramp input signal: 0:00 Introduction. 0:24 Review of Laplace Transforms. 0:30 Review of an input ramp signal. 0:41 Laplace transform of unit ramp signal. 2:56 Laplace transform of step signal with a magnitude that is not 1. 3:20 Outro
