Welcome to the newest section of our numerical analysis course. In this video we will be walking through an Introduction To Numerical Differentiation. Numerical differentiation allows us to approximate the derivative of a function using the numerical methods that we’ve been learning throughout this course. Essentially, we'll be using the power of computers and algorithms to estimate derivatives where solving it by hand analytically was impossible or not ideal. In this video we will introduce the idea of finite difference methods, however, the theory and example for these methods will be given in future videos.
