DeadMau5 - Strobe - Guitar Tapping Tutorial by Steve Ling

All I will say is this:

Use whichever tapping finger you like on your picking hand, either 1st or 2nd. After tapping, either flick off down towards the floor or by pulling your finger in towards the palm of your hand. That makes four different ways of using your right hand (left hand for lefties!).

As for the fretting hand, use whichever fingers you like - it's really about what is easiest for you to handle as there is a lot to be thinking about especially when it gets quicker.

Think about the riff in two parts yes (as in LH and RH), but don't learn them separately. Take it two bars at a time and make sure you can hum the melody to yourself SLOWLY. There are four phrases the way I look at it, so know which phrase does what and then once you have learned each two-bar phrase, stick them all together.
