Steve Lee, MD, PhD
In this video, we discuss several papers talking about placebo effects in various conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, asthma, depression, chest pain. These papers demonstrate the importance of the mind in controlling our physical symptoms as well as the need for well controlled studies in determining if any drug or intervention has an effect beyond those of the mere ritual of medicine.
