In this follow-up companion video to my sample based synthesis sound design method we explore variations on a theme and how a simple change of the source samples, while leaving the underlying sound structure the same, can yield radically different results. Sounds obvious, right? But if you can grasp the concept of building the framework for a sound and creating flexibility within that framework, sounds can be made very quickly and you don't always have to make them from complete scratch. As a result, a lot of unique sound designs can be made in a short amount of time. I'm using Kyma for the synthesis and sound design but you can use any software or method that can achieve similar results. What's important to take away from this video is more the principle of the method and less of the specific tools I used to design it.
