In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to fix Bluetooth not showing in Device Manager in Windows 11.
Step #1 Restart Bluetooth Support Service
By default, the Bluetooth Support service runs automatically in the background. It might be that somehow, the startup didn’t work, or that it is facing some kind of problem.
Use the keyboard combination Windows + r to open a Run window. In this window, enter services.msc. To start, double-click on the Bluetooth Support Service.
Change the startup type to Automatic. After that, check the status. If it is stopped, click on the Start button. Click on Apply and Ok to continue.
To be sure, you can repeat these steps for each Bluetooth service.
When that is done, reboot your PC, and hopefully, this fixed the Bluetooth not showing in Device Manager in Windows 11 problem.
Step #2 Windows 11 Troubleshooter
Next up, we have the Windows 11 troubleshooters. Click on the Windows search icon and type in Troubleshoot settings.
Select other trouble-shooters to continue. In here, you have all of the availabe troubleshooters. Click on the run button next to Bluetooth to start the troubleshooter.
When you do this, Windows 11 tries to find a solution to fix Bluetooth related issues. It does quite a few basic checks and tries to restore default settings.
Step #3 Show Hidden Devices in Device Manager
It happens that Bluetooth works fine but for some reason is set to hidden in Device Manager. Click on the Windows search icon and type in Device Manager.
In Device Manager, click on View at the top of the screen. After that, click on show hidden devices.
Before you continue, click on action and select Scan for hardware changes. If the Bluetooth option appears, click on the little arrow symbol next to it. Right-click on your Bluetooth Device and select Update driver.
Click on search automatically for drivers. With some luck, updates are found and installed. When it is done, reboot your PC, and Bluetooth should remain visible in Device Manager.
Step #4 Fix Bluetooth not Showing with Reinstall Drivers
For the next one, we stay in Device Manager. It’s possible that your USB device is messing with your Bluetooth. To fix this, search for Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Click on the little arrow next to it, followed by right-clicking on extensible host controller. Select Uninstall device.
When the warning pops up, click on uninstall.
When that is done, ideally you reboot your PC. You can also wait a bit and select your hostname, followed by clicking on Scan for hardware changes. By doing this, the USB host controller reappears, and with some luck, Bluetooth appears as well.
Step #5 System File Checker Repair
In this method we use the system file checker to repair or reinstall corrupt system files. This is quite fast and easy to do.
Click on the windows search icon and type in CMD. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
When CMD opens, type in sfc /scannow and hit enter.
The command should complete after a few minutes. When it is done, check if Bluetooth is available in Device Manager. If it isn’t, there is a second command that you try.
Type in DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and hit enter.
This concludes our how to fix Bluetooth not showing in Device Manager Windows 11 tutorial.
