Excel Index Match - [How To Do It]

In this video, we explain how to use the Index Match in Excel. Index match is a combination of the functions Index and Match in excel which can be used as an alternative for Vlookup and adds some extra flexibility. This is a more advanced Excel tutorial so to fully understand it you do need some Excel experience/knowledge.

First, we show how to work with the Index and Match functions separately. The Index function is used to find the value of an element in an array, selected by the row and column number indexes.

The Match returns the position of a specified item in a range. To conclude the video, we explain how exactly you can use the combination of the Index and Match functions to look up a certain value in a table.
