Enable or Disable Startup Apps in Windows 11

In this short tutorial, I’ll show you how to enable or disable startup programs in Windows 11. You can also use this method in Windows 10, as this works the same for both versions.

1. Search for Startup apps in the Windows search bar
2. Open it
3. Use the slider to enable or disable certain applications
4. Reboot your PC for the changes to take place

Click on the Windows search icon and type in Startup apps. Click on it. This should take you directly into the system settings startup section. Here you see an overview of all of the applications that automatically start when you boot your Windows 11 computer.

Very interesting to see is that Windows shows you how big of an impact the application has on boot.

To enable or disable an application from starting, you simply slide on to off or vice versa. Generally speaking, you want to disable the applications that you barely use or disable applications that have a high impact on startup. Doing this will slightly improve your PC’s startup speed.

Disabling or enabling one of these settings takes place after next reboot.
