Congratulations to Larry Walker and Derek Jeter on being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
In the depths of winter, it surely is a special time of year for baseball. Not to mention a much needed breath of fresh air amidst all the cheating scandals.

As pitcher, what can we all learn from Derek Jeter?
He was one of the best ever in terms of how he handled himself. That asset coincides with preparation.
As arguably, one of the greatest October performers ever, how did he rise to the occasion, time after time?
As he said himself, he treated every game the same. Whether it was on a cold night in April or Game 7 of the World Series.
When you have this approach, in game situations never get too big. Nor do they speed up.
When players take some games less serious than others, the Postseason can get very tough and stressful.
The pressure can be overwhelming. Sometimes, it can be over before you had a chance to get started.
This is the next phase of the old cliche,

“How You Play in Practice is how you will play in the game!”

We are taking this one to the level where it gets real, and a lot is on the line.

What this reluctancy all boils down to is letting down your teammates. That’s a HUGE NO NO in this great game. The accountability of being prepared is priceless.

With that being said, as a pitcher, No opponent is too big nor too weak. It doesn’t matter if you are playing Jeter’s '98 Yankees or the dismal '62 Mets.
You prepare for your next outing the same way.
When you step on the mound, nothing changes in your approach.
Make all of your pitches with full conviction.

In addition to that, read the hitters’ swings, pick up on their tendencies, and work with your catcher to pick apart and expose opposing lineups. When you do that from the beginning to the end, you will have some magical seasons.
When you can pass this info along to your teammates, in a way that is understandable and motivating, then collectively, KEEP DOMINATING MY FRIENDS!!!!
