You strike out the side, and the next inning, like that its 2nd & 3rd, nobody out. Your team wins the championship, and like that, the next 3 years, you have a losing record. You throw a Shutout, and like that, your next start, you can’t get out of the 2nd inning. You have a coach and mentor who you love to play for, and like that, he moves on and his replacement is just awful! That’s baseball. That’s life. Enjoy the Suck, Kid!!!

There will always be facets of baseball that you despise. Often unnecessary, but hey, what can you do? Whether it is terrible coaching, selfish teammates, bad luck, or the dreaded baseball politics…. Your job as a pitcher never changes. Prepare to Go out on the mound and make every pitch with FULL Conviction! Challenge hitters and compete to WIN!!!!! Regardless, of whether you are at the top of the rotation, or you were bumped down on the depth chart for some frivolous nonsense, the objective as Position #1 on the diamond never changes.

In a free society, unfortunately, the soul sucking leeches will find their way into well functioning establishments. The good news is that you have your power moves as well, as does the market place. Never underestimate the checks and balances that keep the monsters at bay. I digress.

You rise above all the absurdity by being focused on the task at hand. Without getting caught up in the madness, put in the work, and the right baseball people will take notice. The adversity that looms in this game, has sent many-a-packing. Either by choice or by force… They just couldn’t cut it. Natural selection always thins the herd. So on which side do you want to be.

When you hold on without being discouraged and never let anyone else suppress your love for this great game, the positive results shine brighter and live deeper within us. Remember, STRESS Creates STRENGTH.

Succeeding in a positive environment can’t hold a candle to overcoming the seemingly endless garbage thrown at us from every direction. Achievement in the face of adversity is something that not everyone will understand, yet can never be taken away from you. Because Great performances trump all!!!! They wake up the naysayers and force them to re evaluate. And consistency is difficult for even the most ignorant to neglect.
