💠 Geneticists have mapped out the technology road map needed to create synthetic biology. They say we are in the era of genomics, but there is still a long way to go. Synthetic biology aims to apply engineering concepts to biology and make it more efficient. Gene-editing prowess has come a long way, but we still fail to make widespread improvements to the genome at the same time. New enzyme-based methods that can generate long and precise sequences provide much more promise in the long term. The goal is to find ways to prevent multiple guide RNAs from communicating with each other.
