For a better clock in the TASKBAR, go here: https://youtu.be/_s1AWRCjli8 For a list of instructions in bullet points and text, please click "SHOW MORE". Windows 11 released yesterday, on October 4, 2021! But its Calendar Flyout lacks a clock! So, in this video, I'll show you how you can somewhat get it back, complete with seconds! NOTICE: You may need to restart Windows Explorer after the procedure. Only updates by the minute or whenever you click the taskbar clock. Affects ONLY the Calendar Flyout – please use the link above for restoring seconds in the taskbar clock.
TEXT INSTRUCTIONS (timestamps also provided for visual assistance) • 0:33 Right-click the system clock. • 0:35 Select "Adjust date and time". • 0:37 Select "Additional clocks" at the bottom of the Settings page that opens up. • 0:38 Check the first "Show this clock" checkbox and click Apply. • 0:47 Select the "Date and Time" tab. • 0:48 Select "Change date and time". • 0:49 Select "Change calendar settings". • 0:50 Select "Additional settings...". • 0:51 Select the "Time" tab. • 0:52 Add ":ss" right next to the "mm" in the "Short time:" text box, and click Apply. • 1:02 You may need to restart Windows Explorer (or log off & log back on) to see the correct result.
As of 2022-04-07, this method works for all Windows 11 builds (latest tested: Build 22593). It also works in Windows 10, although it's not as relevant there.
