Yet another long range frs/gmrs test with a tiny Uniden walkie talkie from 3 miles away to my home base on channel 5. Amazing what these tiny UHF radios can do even in hilly terrain. Thanks to Kentucky Goblin for the help showing how even the smallest most simplest walkie talkie can be a great tool in a emergency shituation. Radio's used in this test were Uniden gmrs/frs Gmr 1018 and the Midland MXT-115 on solar power and a base antenna 22 feet in the air.
