Emerging Challenges to India

According to renowned security and International relations experts, India may have to prepare for the possibility that five emerging challenges to its security might converge ahead of next spring’s elections. These are: number 1) electoral violence in Bangladesh; number 2) more unrest in Manipur; number 3) intensified Anglosphere pressure over the Indian-Canadian dispute; number 4) China cutting a deal with Bhutan to obtain control over the Doklam Plateau; and number 5) improved Sino-US ties leading to America turning a blind eye towards Chinese moves in India’s Northeast.
