Rust SERVER GAME MODES and SERVER TAGS | Rust Admin Academy Tutorial 2021

Probably one the greatest things FacePunch has added to the game (for server owners). Server TAGS and Server GAMEMODES. Exciting times are upon us, if this is an indicator of what's coming in the future of Rust.

Here's the info you need. 🔅SERVER TAGS🔅 🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽 Tags are additional bits of information that describe Rust servers. Up to three of them will be displayed on the Rust server browser and filtering will be supported one day. ↪️The following TAGS are currently supported:↩️ monthly, biweekly, weekly, vanilla, pve, roleplay, creative, softcore, minigame, training, battlefield, broyale and builds How to add them to your server cvar to use in your batch file: +server.tags

Set the server.tags convar to the comma-separated tag values you wish to use from the table above. For example, if you want the Weekly, Vanilla, and Roleplay tags applied you would use server.tags weekly,vanilla,roleplay Note that some tags invalidate each other or may be set by other convars. For example, server.pve will apply the PvE tag and you cannot apply both Monthly and Weekly on the same server.

🔅Server Game Modes🔅 🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽 Gamemode can be set using convar +server.gamemode name. Put it in your server startup config and changes will be applied on launch. There is also an other command that can be used at runtime, gamemode.set name. Check information below for the full list of currently available modes. 🔴vanilla 🔴softcore 🔴deathmatch (Not currently available for use) 🔴teamdm (Not currently available for use) 🔴onedeath (Not currently available for use) 🔴koth_solo (Not currently available for use) 🔴koth_team (Not currently available for use)

🔅Softcore Details🔅 🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽 Softcore is a "lightweight" version of vanilla Rust gameplay: 🔴Max team size is 4 players 🔴Auth limited to team size (4) 🔴Players can respawn at Compound/Bandit Camp. (not available if they are marked as hostile) 🔴Not all loot is lost on death: 50% of inventory and 50% of hotbar items can be reclaimed at safe zone. Armor isn't saved. Players have only 2 hours to retrieve it, after that it'll disappear. 🔴This is an experimental gamemode and will change in the future.

Softcore comes with three convars that allows you to edit amount of random items players can reclaim at safezone terminals. 0 means 0%, 0.5 means 50%, 1 means 100%.
