How to make your own My Maps with Google maps

How to create personal custom maps using Google Maps and the My Places tool..

The Google My Places is a very useful tool. My Places tool lets you not only make maps and add text and photos and video and routes, but if you click on the link button in the edit mode you will get a url that will let you embed the map you made in a website. You can also email your map to collaborators who can then add their own information to make the map even more useful.

I would like to see a local map that detailed the location of low cost health services, community gardens, community workshops,places to buy low cost fruit,meats and vegetables,historical maps made by long time local residents,fishing maps,job training maps, nature trails,and a lot more. Now that I have a tool like My Places, I can actually make those maps and share with others, ...and so can you.
