Remote I2PD Browser Shortcut Setup
(RTP) Privacy & Tech Tips
How To Setup Local I2P Browser Using Remotely Accessed I2PD Server. This Example Uses A Singleboard Computer, Making The Light Footprint Of I2PD Ideal (C++)
Our shortcut uses the 'remote' option inside the start-i2p script / command. This remote option uses ssh forwarding + relies on ssh key authentication for the i2pd server
You can follow ssh key authentication tutorial on public blog (set this up client: your local desktop, server: i2pd server): https://www.buymeacoffee.com/politictech/password-less-ssh-logins-checking-fingerprints-avoid-mitm-attacks
Download I2P-desktop (using Tor Browser): http://gg6zxtreajiijztyy5g6bt5o6l3qu32nrg7eulyemlhxwwl6enk6ghad.onion/RightToPrivacy/I2P-desktop/archive/master.tar.gz
Then place shortcut "i2pd-remote.desktop" from I2P-desktop onto your desktop alongside the normal I2P browser shortcut.
If you have any questions on this, leave a comment. Feedback welcome.
NOTE: For the moment, this does NOT kill the ssh process (will be added later). For now you can end that ssh forward process with: killall -9 ssh (for ex), or manually kill the ssh process ID (PID).
