Marwa ElDiwiny - Soft Robotics For Human Health, Physical Enhancement, And Aging
Progress, Potential, and Possibilities
Marwa ElDiwiny, is a PhD researcher, at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Marwa, works with BruBotics, the Brussels Human Robotics Research Center of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where eight research groups work together to improve the quality of life and working conditions of people through Human Robotics.
BruBotics uniquely combines expertise on robotics, AI, rehabilitation sciences, movement sciences, social sciences, retail marketing, ageing and eHealth and is as such one of the only truly interdisciplinary robotics research centers in Europe. Together with industrial and societal partners they strive to take the next step in Human Robotics by breaking boundaries.
Marwa is working to model and simulate self-healing soft materials for robotics applications. Her master’s thesis focused on anti-stealth technology for safe operation of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Prior to her current initiatives, Marwa was a research graduate at Twente University, a research engineer at Inria, Lille nord Europe, a research scholar at Tartu Institute of Technology (TIT) and assistant lecturer in the Mechatronics and Industrial Robotics Program, Minia University, Egypt.
Marwa also hosts the Soft Robotics podcast, where researchers from academia and industry are interviewed about flexible robotics.
Marwa was listed on Robohub’s list of 30 Women in Robotics You Need to Know About. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lR3KhQ2U9uU
