The vulnerability discussed in the video is being referred to as 'Dirty Pipe.' It allows privilege escalation through a pipeline, which is a chain of processes each taking information from the previous and giving information for use with the next. This vulnerability even allows overwriting read-only, immutable, file systems. However, as with most vulnerabilities in the Linux sphere, as long as you are up-to-date - you're safe.
