Geocaching Family Fun Na Serra Da Lousã
Nuno Soares
ENG: The Serra da Lousã has its own identity and as a center of commerce of its villages at that time it had two important poles, Santo António da Neve and Catraia da Ti Joaquina or simply Catraia.
The most important center will have been the Catraia da Ti Joaquina, which was a commercial warehouse par excellence. Catraia was just a house and a large shed where people who lived in their lands were housed. In the house there was a tavern that gave "comfort and warmth" to the mountains and their cattle, when they were surprised by the bad weather.
Catraia, as it is known today, is practically non-existent. It is a collection of ruins but in its time was an obligatory point of passage of moccasins, cattle, fabrics and articles of wool coming from the other side of the Mountain, and even from the distant Alentejo. It was the place where the collective shearing and auctioning was done, and it also served as a lodging and fun for the shepherds.
PT: A Serra da Lousã tem uma identidade própria e como centro de comércio das suas aldeias na altura tinha dois importantes pólos, o Santo António da Neve e a Catraia da Ti Joaquina ou simplesmente Catraia.
