Distributed and Outsource Cognition

All of our thinking is not our own, some of it we do with other people. Much of what we 'know' or rely on is actually distributed cognition that we outsource. This could be through authority, as part of a trust network or from necessity. Understanding this is important so that you can take better control of what and why you are thinking. Here I go over this idea and give examples to make you aware of how you work, what you pay attention to and what things you can look at to get a better view of the world. Much of our framing is a function of outsourced cognition, so we need to understand that in order to take more control of how we are thinking.
