Windows run shell script using the command prompt or the WSL terminal

How to run shell scripts on Windows either inside the Windows subsystem for Linux or on the Windows desktop using the command prompt

To run a shell script on the windows desktop using the command prompt you need to copy the script to the desktop and prefix the command with the word bash

eg to run a script called myscript in the windows command prompt you would run: bash myscript

using the the WSL terminal you can just run the script by typing: myscript
